September 24, 2007 : Going Home

September's here and in a few days I will officially have stayed 6 months in Europe.  On the exact day I make it 6 months, I'm flying back home to Manila.  The dates and logistics were all carefully mapped out in the beggining of the year, though what has happened in between is quite another story which is a bit long to tell.  So, I'm leaving before winter comes in, and I have skipped out on the hottest months of Manila, so I'm happy I haven't melted nor frozen.

Above is a shot I took from the London Eye a few days before I left that city.  The shadow cast on the field and buildings is quite impressive, and when I stare long into the photo I can't quite believe I was there to see it for real.  Photos for me always feel a bit unreal, and I suppose that's how it is with everyone. Frozen image. How very odd.

I've had a range of art and photo projects on this trip though most cannot be published online yet.  I've had a taste of the british and dutch business ethic and I am impressed with how it is conducted here.  Quite frankly the Filipino way of doing business is disappointing... it is sloppy, slow and shows little respect for all parties involved.  But what do I know, it has been a very small and short observation.

It's been a good trip and my brain is a little fatter, including my cheeks and belly I think.  My hair has mutated colors once again and my luggage has given birth to another suitcase full of gifts, oh dear. After all the bouncing between cities, shooting, drawing, meeting new people and befriending a few squirrels, sheep and cows, I'm excited to go home.
